Who We Are

Janie’s Light is a Christian-based nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors in Alabama. Founded with a mission to share God’s love through care and companionship, we support seniors facing challenges such as isolation, limited mobility, and unmet daily needs.
Through practical help, heartfelt connection, and the kindness of volunteers, Janie’s Light works to ensure every senior feels valued, supported, and seen. Whether through a ride to an appointment, a friendly visit, or a helping hand at home, our goal is to brighten lives and build lasting community rooted in compassion and faith.

Our Inspiration

Janie’s Light was inspired by Janie Gann — a devout Christian, natural leader, and servant-hearted woman whose life reflected Christ’s love in action. Janie was known for her compassion, her strength, and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Her example continues to guide our mission: to serve with kindness, humility, and light, just as she did throughout her life.
